Does the BIAC support any spiral in/out sequences on the 3 or 4T?

It wouldn't appear so from the wiki, but I would like to confirm.

Thanks,

Yes, we do have a dual-echo spiral-in/out sequence on both the 3T and 4T (even though it's not mentioned on the wiki). In fact, we even used it in your very first study (exam 32530).

Yes, I knew that we ran sprial i/o's, but I wasn't sure if that was a supported sequence, i.e., that it could come through the BIAC "pipeline". That is, we'd get a Pfile and be able to generate bxh hdrs using BIAC scripts, etc, since you helped us w/ that in the past. Are whole brain images from a spiral i/o sequence posted anywhere or could someone send me some(data from my previous subject only covers MTL regions)? I have spiral i/o's collected on a long bore 3T GE scanner (U Arizona), and inverse spirals collected on the 3T here at Duke. Visual comparison of these data suggest that the spiral i/o recovers significant frontal drop-off. However, I don't have whole brain spiral i/o's from Duke that include coverage of frontal regions to compare. If this isn't available and the techs know the spiral i/o sequence, then I could just put someone in the scanner. Any insight/suggestions would be appreciated? Thanks, Scott Hayes

Hi Scott,

We are currently implementing into the BIAC pipeline the recon for my SENSE spiral sequence, so that you will get the reconstructed images (with bxh headers) directly in your experiment directory, as for conventional spiral images, which will be much more convenient for you than in the past. A few modifications would be needed to process spiral-in/out images, but that can be done.

As you know, we can't get high res (128x128) images with full brain coverage. I have some high res spiral-in/out images of the frontal regions that I can send you. Or if you want low res (64x64) images of the whole brain, we can scan a subject.

I suggest you e-mail me to discuss this in more details.
