Hey all,

Sorry for the late notice, but Golgi will be taken down tonight and restarted in order to apply patches and upgrade some of our software.

Email me or call me immediately if this poses a problem.

I will post here when the upgrades have been completed. Everyone will need to re-login to CIFS servers tomorrow morning in order for bputil and other software to get to their data.

These Golgi software updates and fixes are not absolutely critical so we'll postpone this restart, mostly due to a surprising number of jobs started in the 6:20 p.m. to 7:40 p.m range (AHEM, you know very well who you are), to

Friday, June 23, 2006, from 7:30-9:30 p.m.

Whoever starts processing jobs then or even 1 or 2 hours before will have their processes mercilessly terminated. :)
Again, you will not need to re-login to CIFS servers tomorrow morning. Rather, you will need to only re-login after Friday evening.

Cheers,
Jimmy

Golgi has successfully been restarted as of
Saturday, June 24, 2006, 11:22 a.m.

Remember that in order to have access to the CIFS servers (Nernst, Selye, Goldman, Gall and in some cases Huxley, Hodgkin, and Katz), you will need to cifslogin to each server individually. For detailed instructions on how to do this, please see the following post:
