I have not been able to log on to Bristol the past couple of days. Is it down? If not, any suggestions about why I cannot log on? Thanks. |

Rachel,
The SAN has been "Pausing" frequently over the last few days. The symptoms are that the SAN is not accessible for ~ 30 sec and then connections are restored automatically. The pauses do not appear to effect access through sftp. If you are unable to connect, I would suggest trying again in a couple of minutes. If this doesn't work, post again and maybe Francis or someone else can figure out if it is a different problem.
Justin Case at OIT is working with Legatos (the vendor of the suspect software on Bristol) to resolve the problem.
Good luck, Chuck |

Chuck, Thanks for the information. After several more tries, I was indeed able to connect successfully. However, just as an FYI to others, it did take several tries over a period time. Rachel |

Well, forget what I said about the successfull connection. Once connected, a simple "ls" froze. And now I cannot re-connect. Anyone have any thoughts or suggestions? Thanks. Rachel |

Folks,
One source of problems for people connecting from outside Duke was that OIT restrcited access to Bristol from any non-Duke IP addresses. They have now updated the access to allow SFTP connections from UNC.

Hi:
I have been having problems reading data files that were made before 1/2003. The icons for these files in Explorer have a black clock(?). When I want to read such files (mainly functional images) with mrtest, I get the error:
Error reading volume T:\BIAC\Synrev.01\data\func\20021122_03973\run003_01\snaV004.img error using ==> readmr sorry. no help in figuring out the problem
The same command I use do work for files created in 2003. Any suggestions?
