Folks,

As many of you have noticed, DNS name resolution of biac.duke.edu names from outside DUMC was not working today. DHTS seems to have fixed the problem on their end. However, the names are not being picked up by the university's DNS server. DHTS has submitted a trouble ticket to OIT. We expect a solution shortly.

As of now, only Duke University (OIT) computers should be having problems with DNS name resolution of biac.duke.edu names.

Update

Our DNS problems seem to be solved. DNS lookups from anywhere for any BIAC computers should be working now. Let me know if you encounter any problems.

Please be aware that all workstations and most servers are now in the dhe.duke.edu subdomain. The only exceptions are:

einstein.biac.duke.edu
email.biac.duke.edu
foramen.biac.duke.edu
fourier.biac.duke.edu
golgi.biac.duke.edu
hawking.biac.duke.edu
nernst.biac.duke.edu
polycom.biac.duke.edu
www.biac.duke.edu
