These are instructions for mapping Bristol as a network drive using Windows XP.
(1) Open Windows Explorer.
(2) Choose "Map Network Drive ..." from the "Tools" menu.

- Choose the drive letter you want to use for Bristol from the drop down menu. (Z: in this example) - Enter "\\Bristol\BIAC" for the Folder.
(3) Choose "Connect using a different user name."

- Enter "WIN\username" where "username" is your user name on Bristol. - Enter your Bristol password. - Click Okay.
(4) Click Finish.

To further clarify, there are three relevant pieces of information you need to provide to login:
1) username - your BIAC username (generally your last name; not case-sensitive) 2) domain - this is WIN for Bristol and BIAC for all other BIAC computers (not case-sensitive) 3) password - your password (case-sensitive)
Depending on what operating system you are using, you may be prompted to enter a Domain name on a separate line. In this case you should enter WIN or BIAC for Domain, and your plain old username for User Name.

Also note that you need to specify the full name of Bristol if your computer is not in the BIAC domain: \\bristol.biac.duke.edu\BIAC (case-insensitive) Note: the full name will always work.
