Hello all,
Our subject on the 4T yesterday morning informed us that one side of the headphones was not working, which is quite unfortunate as we are running an auditory task. We begin running children next week and will have visitors; can this be resolved by then?

this happens all the time. the only solution i've found is to turn them off, then back on. i've never had a problem with one side turning off during them actual scan. its only if they've been sitting for a long time.

I agree, resetting the headphones does resolve most of the issues. I checked the headphones this morning and they are working properly.

This issues underscores the importance of experimenters making sure that the headphones work properly at the start of their experimental session. Perhaps a brief test program should be run to make sure that the headphones are working should be run.

We did test the headphones beforehand, and they were working properly.

you should be able to tell they aren't working by the auditory display on the tech's console. if infact they aren't working, or one side is working the display lights will not be on.
