Hey all,

bputil version 1.6 has now been released on Golgi. The following updates have been made.
  • Exam Number can now be selected from a list of possible exams.
  • Selection of Functionals and Anatomicals does verification of BXH file existence before proceeding.
  • BIAC QA is now run in the foreground before all other steps.
  • bputil exits with every job submission unless errors are encountered.
  • Processing Preferences can once again be selected.
    • Set up email notification by entering your email address.
    • Save Analyze Headers when set to True saves spm type .hdr files between instructions.
    • Configuration File option allows you to select a SPM99 configuration file other than the default one.
    • Background Jobs option when set to True will run all steps in the background (aside from BIAC QA, if selected). Useful if you'd like to debug problems.
  • BugFix. Errors that users encountered as they made selections were barely noticeable as the menu popped up right away. Errors now require users to press enter to continue.
  • BugFix. Selecting one Instruction Only resulted in the wrong instruction being selected within the menu. i.e. if you hit 6 for BIAC QA, you'd get a blank line instead of BIAC QA and the QA would not run.
bputil version 1.5, which had been released previously, included the following features, all of which have been kept in the current release.
  • bputil creates batch scripts and runs them in the background. These scripts are saved for future reference in
    /data/users/<username>/bputil/scripts
  • bputil captures stderr and stdout for each running job and saves them in the following directory.
    /data/users/<username>/bputil/logs
  • bputil creates temporary directories for jobs that are being currently processed in the following directory
    /data/users/<username>/bputil/jobs
  • Jobs are automatically cleaned up after they are done (unless they are killed bya a killall or kill -v). After they have been cleaned up, the batch scripts are no longer useful since the temporary directory they used to point to no longer exists. These scripts are however useful for debugging purposes.
  • Jobs are identified by ExamNumber, ExamDate and the time submitted. All queries sent to me asking about particular datasets will need to reference that number. Listing the contents of the script directory or the jobs directory will help you determine what that identifier is. An example would be 20050505_55555_102256.

Roughly 1/3 of the time i run bputil, it will produce an empty html document, but the golgi screen gives no error message. Does any one know why this happens, if it's arbitrary, and whether there's something I'm doing that causes this?
