Folks,

Scheduled Downtime
Gall will be down Thursday, 12/08/05 from 6:00 PM to 6:30 PM for system updates to correct problems with the storage array controller. If you have a specific concern about the time, please let me know.

We are hoping this will fix the problems with periodic freezes of the system. Hardware may need to be replaced, however, and this would require additional down time later.

Impact
  • You will not be able to access files on Gall. (Your user profile and home directory are stored on Gall.)

Update

One of Gall's disks was replaced, and there haven't been any errors since. Let me know if you are experiencing any freezes like those that occurred last week.
