After all the fixes, the 3T is up scanning with stable performance for all customized BIAC pulse sequences - spiral-in, spiral-out, and EPI. Pending Jimmy's effort on incorporating my changes to the recon pipeline and updating all the daemons, the new spiral-in with a different rotation direction should be ready for fMRI experiments.
We will run additional QA experiments on phantom over the weekends and Monday morning to confirm the performance.
Given that the change of rotation pattern of spiral-in sequence is only an interim fix, as the cause of the original instability is unknown, we will need to replace the body gradient coil at some point to eliminate any future potential problems. We will work with all of you and GE to determine an appropriate time for such a replacement.
