Chuck and I did a test on passive protection of the new NOVA coil, in event when the active protection circuits fail. The result came out well -- coils and the preamps were protected, which met the strict requirement of BIAC for patient and scanner safety. Further tests on phantoms are planned to examine the full operation mode using both the head transmit coil and phased-array receive coils, with active protection circuits enabled.
