Dear BIAC Forumers,
Does anyone know whether the inverse spiral sequence is more or less "noisy" than the standard spiral sequence on the 1.5T? That is, whether the inverse spiral images contain more artifact than the standard spiral images?
The reason I ask is that in a less than scientific comparison of time courses from two different studies (involving about 15 subjects per study), the time courses generated using the inverse spiral sequence look worse on average. More quantitatively, the across-subject standard deviation of the BOLD response at each time point of an estimated hemodynamic response is usually higher for the inverse than for the standard spiral sequence.
If anyone has any input on this issue, it would be much appreciated!
