Hello,

We need to take a look at the scanning parameters from data acquired a while ago, and we were hoping that we could get it out of the SIGNA header on the SIGNA 5 images. (the anatomicals in the format where they used to be named I.001, I.002...) Is there a program available that could easily read out this information, and ideally make a BIAC XML header from it?

Ken,

You can try the newly compiled for Windows BXH tools located in \\Gall\Programs\BXH\bin. In particular, bxhabsorb should do what you want. Syam Gadde is the author of those tools, so let him know if you discover any issues. Or feel free to give him a present if it works on the first try.

Usage:
bxhabsorb [ --fromtype type ] inputfiles... bxhoutputfile [ -- type-specific-opts... ]
bxhabsorb [ --fromtype type ] [ --inputsfromfile inputlistfile ] bxhoutputfile [ -- type-specific-opts... ]

Type is one of: pfile, signa5, ximg, dicom
For help on type-specific options, just specify --fromtype type
with no further parameters. If you omit the --fromtype option,
bxhabsorb will attempt to autodetect the type of the first input
file. The extra -- is necessary before any type-specific options,
and type-specific options must occur after the first input file.

Ken,

To make a header for all of the I.* files is a directory, you just need to type is:
bxhabsorb I.* header.bxh
where header.bxh is the name of the BXH header file (your choice). bxhabsorb will attempt to autodetect the filetype.

Enjoy,
Chuck
