Hi,
Has anyone tried to run exp with PTB3 at BIAC6 recently? My experiment was programmed with PTB 3.0.11 - Flavor: beta - Corresponds to SVN Revision 4305.
Last week I tried at BIAC 6 MACH(?), but it was not reliable for some reasons.. So I first ran the D:\Programs\MATLAB\PsychToolbox\3.0.8.889\BIACSetupPsychtoolbox.m and then some error came up. I checked the path, and PTB were included already. So i then ran D:\Programs\MATLAB\PsychToolbox\3.0.9\BIACSetupPsychtoolbox.m and some error came up again. (the path included PTB). Then, I went back to run D:\Programs\MATLAB\PsychToolbox\3.0.8.889\BIACSetupPsychtoolbox.m and it worked..
Then I closed the matlab and tried again.. This time again i had to run either one of the script once or twice.. but wasn't in any specific order. eventually it worked..
It worries me a little this unreliable way to getting the PTB3 to work... does anyone know what could be the issue? Was there a step that I was missing?
thanks

a couple things to consider: 1) i wouldn't depend on your task, programmed in 3.0.11 to work with the older versions, there could be a lot of differences .. especially with beta version ( http://psychtoolbox.org/RecentChanges ) 2) there could be other things in your cached matlab paths that could be conflicting ( matlabpath in matlab will print your entire search path ) 3) there could be bigger differences in the actual matlab version running at the scanner vs your computer ( i think its 2010a at the scanner )
If you want to take some time to come over to Hock ( in the mock room ), we can try to find a solution that'll work ... this would be more convenient then blocking off time on the scanner. The mock computer should be equivalent to whats running there.

Thanks. Today I tested my paradigm with BIAC5, and it worked fine.. [same script I tested at BIAC6].
I ran D:\Programs\MATLAB\PsychToolbox\3.0.9\BIACSetupPsychtoolbox.m No errors. and then my script was fine as well.
I guess I'll scan at BIAC5 for now, and maybe I'll try again on BIAC6 sometime later.
Or if you want to test my script on BIAC6 MACH, I can let you know where the script is located. thanks again. |
