Several updates were made to fmriqa_generate.pl installed on the cluster, which some of you may be using to calculate QA results.
One important change, if you are explicitly using the --timeselect option (which chooses the timepoints you want included in the QA analysis), is that the mean, SFNR, and SNR numbers are now calculated on those timepoints that you chose. In the previous versions, it had mistakenly excluded two or three additional timepoints from the beginning of the scan (based on whether the total number of time points was even or odd) in calculating these measures. The effect of this will depend on the characteristics of the first few of those selected volumes, and I suspect most will not see much of a difference. Again, this only affects those who are explicitly using --timeselect.
Another side effect of the above change, if you are using --timeselect, is that the total number of selected timepoints is now required to be even. This should have been enforced before and is now.
You may also notice a new feature, a frequency spectrum analysis.
As a side note, if any of the many plots in the QA report are not that useful to you, you can have them always start out hidden using the --hide option to fmriqa_generate.pl (run fmriqa_generate.pl --help for more info). Hidden plots can always be shown by clicking on the appropriate checkbox. You can also disable the calculation of them altogether using the --nocalc option. |
