Hi, Everyone, Francis is investigating the problem we're experiencing with Fatt. It will be down for the next few hours.
Thanks for your patience! Michele

You can now log on
Everyone who has been logged on since before 5:30 PM today should log off. When you log back on, you should find your User directory and Profile restored from Tuesday night's backups. Users, Docs and Programs are now on Munin (look in \\Munin\Data). You may need to remap your drive letters. Once Fatt is back up, we will provide a way to retrieve files changed Wednesday before Fatt crashed.
Fatt status
Fatt is still down, but I anticipate it will be back up tomorrow (probably late in the day). Fatt crashed yesterday at 1:24 PM, and when it came back up it detected file system inconsistencies, which are currently being fixed by ChkDsk.
Gory details
ChkDsk scans the entire disk and fixes files and directories. Nine directories were found to have bad indexes and were repaired. 754 orphaned files were recovered to those directories. Currently the file data is being checked. About 19 million of 42 million files have been checked so far. I don't anticipate any data loss at this point.
The exact cause of the crash is not apparent, but may have been due to an older driver that has now been upgraded. Once the ChkDsk is complete, I will be applying some other system patches to Fatt for good measure.

Update
Fatt is back up. \\Fatt\Data is available as a read-only share for now. At some point next week it will be read-write again.

Update
\\Fatt\Data is now read-write. Docs, Programs, Source and Users are available on \\Fatt\Save, which is read-only. You should check \\Fatt\Save for files that were modified after the Tue 9/1 11 PM nightly backup and before Fatt went down Wed 9/2 at 1:24 PM.
