Unscheduled Downtime
The entire Fitzpatrick East Data Center was down due to a power outage. DHTS and OIT are in the process of restoring power to all the racks there.

Impact
  • BIAC servers were unavailable.
  • BIAC email was unavailable.
  • The BIAC web site was unavailable.
  • You were not able to logon to any Windows computer.
  • The BIAC cluster was unavailable until about 1:30 PM.

Current Status
All BIAC systems should be up and running now. Please report any issues to help@biac.duke.edu.

Outage Cause
According to OIT, a contractor mistakenly shut off power.

Cluster nodes are not currently accepting jobs. We will post an update when this issue is resolved.

Update
Incoming email is likely to be slow while the Duke servers deal with the backlog from the outage. This may take several hours to clear up.

The cluster appears to up and running now.
