The computer named Kulpe (normally attached to the left monitor at the 4T) has developed a serious timing problem. Dan and Mckell discovered that a couple of weeks ago its high precision clock, which is used to control stimulus timing in Psych Toolbox and CIGAL (and probably all other programs), suddenly started running about 20% slower than the computer thinks its running. The result is that task paradigms run on Kulpe now seem to run okay, but in fact are significantly slower than they should be. The problem could be resolved by recalibrating the clock in software, but it is so bizarre that we will replace the whole computer to be safe.
Until that happens, DO NOT USE Kulpe for fMRI experiments unless you are sure that the timing of your tasks is not affected by this problem.
