I'm unable to access Golgi from my computer in the Center for Aging. SSH can't find the server, and pinging golgi.biac.duke.edu times out. Is the server down for any reason, or could it be a problem of access from my end?

The slow logins should be resolved now.

you're right ... it works, just takes more time.

Golgi is available outside the BIAC network (I connected to it from an external ip). Ping will no longer work for Golgi. SSH does take some time to get a command line after you enter the password, so waiting 2 - 3 minutes will usually get it. You might have to change the timeout interval for you SSH client.

still cannot ping it, or connect from over at the VA

Golgi is back on the network. You should be able to connect now.

Folks, this should be resolved by tomorrow. Sorry for the inconvenience. I will post an update here.

access has been cut off to anyone outside of the duke medical center firewall for temporary security reasons. if you can connect to another biac machine (ie: hawking) you can then ssh from there.

also, see this post: http://www.biac.duke.edu/forums/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=760
