We're trying to analyze some data with BPutil using a configuration file other than the default. I'm having trouble getting BPutil to use the file that I'm specifying. BPutil will list (and presumably use) the identical *.conf file if I move it to my home directory. I'm reticent to do this because several people may have to analyze the data and I want to limit the number of possible *.conf files we're using. There shouldn't be any problems with the *.conf file itself, because it's been successfully used with scripts previously.
The error I get is below. As you can see the file is there. I thought it might be the dash in pre-processing, but I get the same error with the folder renamed without the dash.

Thanks
Michele

I'm logged in via CIFS. I'm nearly positive I was also logged in when I previously tried this last week (as I could cd into the BIRN.20 directories). I tried this just now, and was able to set the customized conf file. I don't think I did anything different though.

Strange, it works for me:

Enter option (1..15): 5
Enter full path to configuration file [-1 to cancel]: /home/gadde/net/nernst/data1/BIRN.20/Control/pre-processing/test.conf
Configuration file /home/gadde/net/nernst/data1/BIRN.20/Control/pre-processing/test.conf has been set.

Are you logged into nernst using cifslogin?

BTW, anyone know how to restore my choice of configuration file to the default?

Thanks, I tried both from my home directory, but it didn't work. The error messages are below.

One more thing to try is to replace the "~" with /home/diaz (or whatever your home directory is). "~" is a shortcut that is expanded by the command shell, but since you're not in your shell when you're running bputil, it might not work.

i get the same error when i try to change .conf files, even though i know they are there ... however everything has to be the exact spelling.

when i cd to BIRN its all uppercase:
change your birn.20 to BIRN.20 and try that
