Good morning,
Myself and an RA of mine are having potentially similar issues on different computers using GUIs in qinteract. My issue is that when I open fslview and click on any of the toolbar buttons (e.g. the file or tools button), the program is unresponsive. I can navigate around an opened image just fine though, so the program is not universally unresponsive.
My RA is also having a problem using Tkmedit. When she attempts to manually remove pieces of the eye after skull stripping, she is unable to remove all of the voxels, especially those that are the brightest.
I am not sure if these problems are related, but they both pertain to GUIs in qinteract not being responsive to mouse clicks. If anyone has any insight or information that may help us, we'd be extremely grateful!

Probably more of an issue with graphics than an issue with the cluster nodes. Keep in mind you're forwarding the graphics through multiple machines across the network, then rendering them locally on you computer.
Are you using window's and Xwin32 ... if so, here are a couple things to try:
1) Turn on compression. Select your saved session configuration through X-Config, select edit, then the advanced tab. select "Use compression". Sending smaller amounts of info can speed things up.
2) Software Renderer. Open X-Config, go to the "Windows" tab and select "Use Software Renderer for OpenGL". This will try to render the forwarded graphics in software, rather than using your local graphics card. This could better/worse for you, depending on your local computer, but something to try. |
