For the last few weeks, I have been unable to open MATLAB on the cluster. All the start up windows pop up, then close out. It gives me this message:

yrupyUnable to open file for Java VM logging

If I try to start it in nojvm mode, it gives me this message:

Warning: Executing startup failed in matlabrc.
This indicates a potentially serious problem in your MATLAB setup,
which should be resolved as soon as possible. Error detected was:
MATLAB:undefinedVarOrClass
Undefined variable "com" or class "com.mathworks.jmi.ClassLoaderManager.getClassLoaderManager".

Any ideas?

Thanks.

opens just fine for me.

typically all of the java errors point to matlab consuming all of your available RAM. If you're trying to run the whole matlab interactive desktop open an interactive session with 6GB instead of the default 4GB.

If you don't need to entire desktop then open with -nodesktop and save yourself some ram
