Posted - May 21 2012 : 1:35:34 PM For the last few weeks, I have been unable to open MATLAB on the cluster. All the start up windows pop up, then close out. It gives me this message:
yrupyUnable to open file for Java VM logging
If I try to start it in nojvm mode, it gives me this message:
Warning: Executing startup failed in matlabrc. This indicates a potentially serious problem in your MATLAB setup, which should be resolved as soon as possible. Error detected was: MATLAB:undefinedVarOrClass Undefined variable "com" or class "com.mathworks.jmi.ClassLoaderManager.getClassLoaderManager".
Any ideas?
Thanks.

typically all of the java errors point to matlab consuming all of your available RAM. If you're trying to run the whole matlab interactive desktop open an interactive session with 6GB instead of the default 4GB.
