Hi all,
I'm having issues starting an interactive session to test my scripts. This is the first time I'm running into this. Isn't there any space protected for light interactive sessions when the cluster is saturated? Thanks.

[guidon@hugin ~]$ qstatall|wc -l
427
[guidon@hugin ~]$ qinteract

every compute node has 1 interactive slot and 7 batch slots.

if everyone used the default amount of memory, then there would be enough space.

i made, 2 nodes only interactive with 6 slots each ( which are currently full ).

the issue arises when people are using more GB than the default ... since all resources are getting reserved.

Never mind. For some reason we can now get on.

Chris Coutlee, Lawrence Ngo, and I are all having this problem. Is it possible that too many people are on qinteract?

It's happening again unfortunately:

ok I see. Thanks.

yes there is, but i just made it today to combat what is happening. the compute jobs which are currently running on there need to trickle out since they are taking up all of the available resources.
