I am writing in behalf of my daughter, Sara Briann Sarno. She has been recommended and selected as a Student Ambassador for People to People International (www.ptpi.org) by her school, Carrington Middle School. PTPI promotes international understanding by providing students across the country with the opportunity to travel world wide and experience first hand various cultures different from their own. In the process, the student's understanding of diversity is enhanced through educational, cultural, and humanitarian activities.

This trip (to take place June, 2005) will cover 4 countries including France, Switzerland, Austria and Italy. Should Briann raise the monies required to attend this trip she will have the opportunity to tour areas of the royal palace at Versailles not open to the public, discover Zurich and Lucerne, live with an Austrian family to experience their every day lives, and receive a specially-granted tour of the Vatican. Her experience will earn her high school credits as she prepares written reports and oral presentations on the various aspects of these countries including climate, economy, traditions, etc.

My hopes are that this opportunity will enrich her educational experience, enhance her self esteem and independence through travel sans parent, and accentuate her appreciation of life.

To prepare for this trip Briann has initiated a fund raising campaign: She will be offering her services as an experienced baby sitter & dog walker, and she will be offering various products for sale: Her current sales include Aunt Betsy's Blue Ribbon Classic Cookie Dough and Cheesecakes and Holiday Greenery (wreaths and garlands). Should you care to assist in her efforts, please contact myself, Sara Briann (Sergeant_babyface@yahoo.com), or see my office door (256G, BIAC) where order forms have been placed.

Thank you for your time,

Anita
