Every time I attempt to download a PDF paper from the web, including publisher Journal sites, my explorer crashes, and stops responding. Any ideas?

I have a possible fix for You. This is a Windows issue that they haven't fixed yet.

In Your explorer, go to 'Internet Options' 'Security' 'Custom Level' 'Miscellaneous' and under the heading 'Disply Mixed Content' check 'Enable' instead of 'Prompt'. That worked for me. Good luck.
