Lately young has been jamming on nearly every third sheet of printed paper (whether you print single or double sided). Does anyone have any suggestions as to what can be done? No specific error messages are provided (other than the location of the jam).

It appears that a bad sensor in the paper ejector was causing the paper jams in Young. We replaced the paper ejector unit and Young now seems to be working properly again (both single and double-sided printing).

It is also having problems printing single sided. Regarding the paper, a different quality of paper was purchased last time.

I have only been having problems with double-sided printing. Are people having problems with single sided printing also?

Is there something different about the paper that has been placed in Young? My recollection is that it simply gets stuck.

Kari has offered to retrieve printouts from Jakob; just send her an email the next time you go to print something over there.

You're welcome to use Jakob, anytime. It will take you 3 hrs to get to our office from the Bell Bldg however.

Here are a few suggestions:

1) Save trees; read stuff on your computer screen instead of printing everything.

2) Buy your own gd printer; oh wait, I don't have a printer.

3) Go to the library to print stuff. That way the undergrads will pay for the paper and ink.

4) If you want to see Melissa all fired up, use Jakob.

Also, the jam is nearly always at C (right side of printer), with half of the piece of paper out of the printer and half still in the fuser.
