Is it possible to run these on a mac? If so, which set of files should we use?

It depends. If you are talking about the command-line tools, go to:

http://www.nitrc.org/frs/?group_id=200

and use the latest file containing the string 'darwin980' for MacOS 10.5.8 (Leopard) or 'darwin1030' for MacOS 10.6 (Snow Leopard).

If you are talking about the MATLAB tools, contact me -- we have some fixes that haven't been officially released but should make it easier to compile the necessary .mex files.
