Hi All,
sorry to go on about this, but yesterday I could not practice our subject in the whisper room again b/c of the way someone had left the computers set up. I tried pressing the "input" button to scroll through the options, but the monitor in the mock scanner and whisper room never came up. Could people PLEASE reset the computers back to normal when you do something different in there.
BTW - if this happens again, who is the best person to call for help? After pressing the input button about 87 times, I was out of ideas...

So after several wild accusations and causing wide ranging upset, the problem persists and I have no answers. As Amin stated, an administrator is the only one who can re-mirror once the monitors have been un-mirrored. At the moment, he is happy to run over and fix it as needed (as he has done several times already for me), but I can see that wearing thin very soon.
What I don't understand is that everyone I've talked to is having the same frustration, i.e. wants the monitors to be mirrored. It was all working fine until about 2 weeks ago, what happened? If someone is turning the mirroring off for their paradigm, could they arrange with Amin to turn it back on immediately after (or some other work around)? It seems most people want it on.
Of course, the alternative answer would be to make the re-mirroring option available to all users. Is there any way this could be done?

The mirroring setting that the monitors in the mock scanner room have by default can be undone by any user setting the display mode to extended desktop or simply deactivating the second monitor. Unfortunately, only the extended desktop setting is accessible to normal users, while the mirroring setting requires Administrator priviliges. Therefore, as far as I can tell, if for any reason the setup of the monitors is changed at the operating system level, an administrator will need to be called to return the system to the normal mirrored mode. It is also important to note that because the setup of these monitors is somewhat complex, this is only one of several reasons the three may not operate properly in tandem, meaning that care should be exercised and questions asked before any changes are made. |

We have had several problems recently also with the mock scanner. Last week on three occaisons we were unable to display our stimuli on the monitor in the mock scanner. Stimuli could be viewed on the console outside the scanner. Like Melissa, we're never sure what condition we'll find things when using the mock (e.g., others still logged in; setting changed; etc.).
