Hi Everyone!

I have a pretty simple question. We are looking to share one of our e-prime tasks with a collaborator, a task that is using the Neuroscan box on BIAC5. However, this group is already using an 8 button box, and isn't too excited about potentially needing to use two boxes. My question is as follows:

The collaborator has reported that Matlab is not able to read the Neuroscan box, so is e-prime 2.0 able to read the 8 button box? The input types for devices allowed are as follows:

Keyboard
SR Box
Joystick
Parallel Port
Display
Port
Mouse
Serial
Socket (not to be confused with Sochat :P)
Sound Capture
Sound

I am hopeful with this many options, it could be possible! In the case that we can use a different box, where I might I find how this box gets coded into e-prime, so I can edit the task accordingly?

Best,

Vanessa

good.

not sure if its relevant, but the 8-button box will ouput responses mapping to (1,2,3,4 ... 6,7,8,9), so look out for any differences between the old button mapping and the new one.

Hi Chris,

I read up on the devices on the BIAC wiki, saw that it was like a USB keyboard, and was able to get it working with e-prime almost immediately - woohoo! Many thanks for your quick response, and help from Francis as well.

Best,

Vanessa

Our 8-button box shows up as a keyboard device ... so you should give that a shot.
