There is a new version of CIGAL available. It has lots of little improvements and a few big ones. The major change is that it can run without using the DirectDraw video interface, which Microsoft no longer supports the way it used to. The DirectDraw portion can cause CIGAL to crash on some computers with new video boards, and it doesn't support dual monitors very well.

The new CIGAL version still has DirectDraw support if needed, but it no longer uses it by default. It works with all video hardware (so far) and has some nice new dual monitor features.

The new version is currently available as a beta version on Fatt. To use it, copy the "BetaCIGAL" shortcut from:
\\Fatt\Data\BIAC\Programs\CIGAL\BetaVersion
or P:\CIGAL\BetaVersion
to your task folder and use it to start CIGAL (instead of StartCIGAL).

Let me know if you find problems with this version.
Once people have had a chance to test it I will replace the CurrentVersion with this BetaVersion.

thanks,
Jim
