Hi,

Is it possible to run Cigal on Golgi. I have been trying to run it using remote desktop to access a computer at BIAC and I keep getting an error.

Thanks,
Joe

CIGAL currently only runs on Windows computers, so you can not run it on Golgi, which is an AIX (IBM Unix) system.

You can run CIGAL via Windows Remote Desktop, but not it's real-time command, which is probably what you really want. In the current version, the ShowPlay paradigm software in CIGAL uses Windows' DirectX video interface, which involves direct control of the computer's display screen. Remote desktop does not allow you to see the computer's display when it is controlled by DirectX functions. Someday soon CIGAL version 5 will be released, which does not use DirectX and will work remotely. That will be a few months yet, though.

Woops, I spoke to soon. This time the file was able to load, but it crashed before executing the script.

I can run Cigal now in remote desktop. I needed a new start.cgl file.
